Automated trading, with you still in the chair

Automation earns its keep long before it touches an order. The parts of trading that reward a machine are the repetitive ones — watching every chart for your setup, applying the same standard to every candle, never skipping the stop because this one feels different. PapsDigital automates those first, and treats execution as the last step rather than the headline.

What gets automated first

A scanner that checks every instrument on your timeframe, every run, without getting bored. A rule set that fires an alert the moment its conditions are met, whether or not you were looking. A risk figure and a position size computed the same way each time. None of this needs to touch your broker to save you the mistakes that actually cost money.

  • ScanningDescribe a setup once; every chart is swept for it on every run.
  • AlertingEntry, stop and target arrive the moment a tested rule fires.
  • SizingRisk per trade and position size calculated, not estimated.

The order that automation has to follow

Nothing runs automatically until it has survived the sequence: rules written out in full, backtested on real candles, paper traded forward on live prices, and only then live. Automating an untested rule does not make it work faster — it makes it lose faster, which is the one thing automation is reliably good at.

Auto bot trading is in Beta

Connecting a strategy to a broker so a bot places the order is a Beta module, and it is described that way everywhere on this site on purpose. A bot runs the rules you wrote, on the account you connected, inside the limits you set. PapsDigital itself is not a broker and does not route orders or hold funds, and nothing about a bot removes your responsibility for the position it opens.

What stays manual, deliberately

The AI never decides for you: it produces a read, and you act on it or you do not. Strategies do not promote themselves to live. And there is no setting that hides the stop, because the stop is the only part of an automated system that protects you from the rest of it.

Auto trading questions, answered

Does PapsDigital place trades for me?

Not on its own. The platform produces analysis, tested rules and alerts, and you place the order. Bot execution, where a bot you configured sends orders to a broker you connected, is a separate module in Beta.

What is the difference between auto trading and algo trading?

Algo trading is about the rules — writing a strategy exactly enough to test it. Auto trading is about running them without you watching. You need the first before the second is worth having.

Do I need my own broker account?

Yes, for bot execution. PapsDigital is a research and decision-support tool, not a broker: it does not route orders, hold your funds or take custody of anything.

Is automated trading safe?

Automation removes hesitation, which cuts both ways: it will follow a bad rule as faithfully as a good one. That is why every strategy has to clear a backtest and a paper run first, why risk per trade is set before anything goes live, and why trading carries a real risk of loss regardless.

Can I stop a running strategy?

Yes. A strategy can be paused or stopped at any time, and nothing re-enables itself.
