Describe, build, test, go live

Build and backtest a trading strategy in plain English

The gap between an idea and a tested strategy is usually a programming language. Describe the rules the way you would explain them to another trader, and they are compiled into something that can actually be run — and, more importantly, something that can be run against history before any money is involved.

Figures in the previews are illustrative. Backtests use the same candles the terminal charts; paper trades use the same live prices.

Questions

Strategies — FAQs

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You describe the entry, exit and risk rules in plain English and they are compiled into executable rules. You can read what was compiled before running it, so nothing is a black box.

Can I backtest before going live?

Yes, and it is the step the whole flow is built around. A strategy is tested on real historical candles first; paper trading comes next; only then does deployment to a live strategy slot make sense. See /backtesting for how the testing itself works.

How many strategies can I run at once?

One on Trader, three on Pro and ten on Quant. Paper trading and live strategy slots are listed per plan on the pricing page.

Does it place trades for me?

Only if you deploy a strategy and connect it yourself, on a plan that includes auto bot trading — which is currently in beta on Quant. Nothing places a trade without a strategy you built and deployed, and past results never guarantee future ones.

Your next trade deserves more context.
